About me

Hi, I’m Naveen, a plant scientist with over 8 years of experience in research, currently working as a postdoctoral researcher in Stephan Wenkel’s group at the Umea Plant Science Centre. My journey started with a PhD in plant biology from the Indian Institute of Science, where I developed a strong interest in plant development and new technologies like CRISPR. I enjoy not only being in the lab but also keeping up with the latest trends in plant science and helping others grow in their careers.

Alongside my research, I’m passionate about supporting young scientists as they transition into plant science careers, offering mentorship and guidance on research writing, project management, and experimental design. I’ve had the opportunity to publish widely cited research, review for well-known journals, and supervise several bachelor’s and master’s theses. Whether you’re just starting out in your research or are a professional in the field, I’m always happy to chat or collaborate on projects that push the boundaries of plant science.
